Roblox Player Support Wants Your Bug Reports. Keep the Discord Open
Roblox opened early access to Player Support, an in-game bug report inbox, after RDC26. It is a real upgrade for triage, but canned replies and age limits mean your Discord still does the talking.
On September 17, Roblox opened early access to Player Support, a tool that lets players report issues from inside a game and gives developers one portal to review and respond. It was one of the tools Roblox listed in its RDC26 recap the week before, next to push notifications, browser play and a change to content moderation.
Plenty of Roblox studios run support out of a Discord server today, and Roblox's own announcement names off-platform servers as one of the places reports used to land. Roblox is pitching Player Support as the fix for that mess, and for bug intake it is a genuine upgrade. For talking to players it is not ready, and Roblox says as much in its own FAQ. Our take: move the ticket into Roblox, keep the conversation in Discord, and stop pretending one tool does both.

What Player Support fixes
Roblox's announcement describes the old system plainly. Reports arrived through community posts, DMs and off-platform servers, often without the details a developer needs and often as duplicates. Anyone who has run a bug report channel knows the genre. Fourteen people post that the game is broken, with no device, no version and a cropped screenshot of the lobby.
Player Support attaches device data, the client version and a screenshot to every report automatically, and it clusters repeat reports into a single issue. Reports do not count against API or storage limits. When you reply, the player sees that a team member from your game responded, not your personal Roblox account. For small teams that is a nice bit of distance.
Why your Discord is not going anywhere
Three limits in the announcement matter. Replies come from a pre-approved response library. Asked whether developers can message players directly, Roblox answers "Not today" and says free-form messaging is on its radar. Only players age-checked at 13 or older can report, and reporting for younger players is listed for 2027. Forum bug reporting only works if your game already has a Community with forums enabled, and because forums are now tier-gated, Roblox says you cannot make a new Community just to turn it on.
Developers in the thread noticed. TheNexusAvenger wrote that without follow-up questions "we would continue to only support bug reports in Discord (which is bad)." CompilerError asked for Cloud API endpoints to pipe reports into their own dashboards. Both are fair. A canned reply cannot ask which server someone was in when their pet vanished, and a support queue you cannot export is a queue you will end up copying by hand.
Meanwhile Roblox is making Discord more useful as a front door. Its recap says that by the end of the year you can share your game's Details Page URL "in a Discord, and anyone who clicks can start playing immediately in Chrome, with no app or install required." Push notifications for opted-in players are coming too, starting with alerts "when it's their turn" in turn-based games, per the Roblox newsroom, with a Studio beta in October.
- Sign up now. Access is granted on a rolling basis, not automatically, so the early access form is worth filling in before your next update, not after it.
- Wire in the prompt. Studios call PromptFeedbackSubmissionAsync to open the report flow. Put it in the pause menu and on the error screen, where frustrated players already are.
- Split the jobs. Point crash and bug reports to Player Support. Keep a Discord channel for bugs that need a back and forth, and say in your pinned message which goes where.
- Pick your canned replies carefully. The library is the whole voice of your support desk in this tool. Learn which responses exist and favor the ones that tell players what happens next.
- Keep a human path for under 13s. They cannot use the tool until 2027 at the earliest. Your Discord rules and your moderation still have to account for the players Roblox's own inbox cannot hear.
- Put play links everywhere. When browser play lands, every announcement in your server should carry the Details Page URL, since a click becomes a session with no install.
Player Support is a better inbox. Your Discord is still the only place a developer can ask a player a follow-up question. Use both.
One more RDC26 item matters for the people who build these games. Roblox says it is adjusting its approach to content violations and expects the changes to reduce bans by nearly 40% for well-intentioned creators. That is Roblox's projection about its own system, not a result yet. Check it against your own team's moderation history in six months.
What is Roblox Player Support?
An early access tool that lets age-checked players 13 and older report issues from inside a Roblox game. Developers review reports in one portal, with device data and screenshots attached and duplicates grouped together.
How do I get Roblox Player Support for my game?
Sign up through the early access form linked in Roblox's DevForum announcement. Access is granted on a rolling basis, and you get a notification in Creator Hub and Studio when it is on.
Can developers reply to players in Player Support?
Yes, but only with responses from a pre-approved library. Free-form messaging is not available today. Roblox says it knows creators want it.
Should my Roblox game still have a Discord server?
Yes. Player Support does not allow follow-up questions, does not cover players under 13, and has no API yet. Discord is still where you talk with players, announce updates and handle bugs that need a conversation.
Roblox is building the inbox and leaving the conversation to you, which is the part of a game's community we run for studios, along with the tools that connect the two.
